Oh, it's been so long since I played truth or dare. Normally I would pick truth. Telling the truth usually isn't too excruciating, especially about fairly innocent things like "Who do you have a crush on?" With a dare, however, what if I was forced to, say, eat a slug or put my hand down the garbage disposal? One day when I was about 12, I was playing truth or dare with the girl who lived across the street, in her yard. Another neighborhood girl joined us. I chose a dare, and my friend told me to go kiss the front tire of her bike. So I did without thinking. Then she, her dad, and the other girl laughed at me, and she said, "I ran through poop on those!"

I'll turn the question around on you--ever done anything crazy on a dare?

YouTube video: Super Mario Brothers 2 TAS )

Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] graywords, for linking me to this! I was practically on the edge of my seat watching this tool-assisted speed emulation! Watch for the Clawgrip battle.

Super Mario Bros. 2 was my favorite video game when I was a kid, and the first that I owned. In fact, if I'm remembering this right, there was one Thanksgiving when I was in the throes of the game, and my mom had to get me to PAUSE THE GAME SO I WOULD EAT THANKSGIVING DINNER WITH MY FAMILY. It was on pause throughout the dinner, and I couldn't wait to finish up so I could start it again! (Most mothers probably would have pulled the television plug out of the wall at that point!)

I do remember being pretty creeped out toward the end of the game when the bird-head gate flies off the wall and chases after your character, and then if you hit it enough times its mouth stretches open... ick.
